The Off Season

Spring 2020- Present, Mystic, Connecticut

"The Off Season" is a personal exploration of Mystic, Connecticut—the town I grew up in and know beyond its curated tourist image. When the crowds disappear, Mystic takes on a different rhythm, one that feels quieter, more intimate, and entirely its own. This project captures what I see as a resident—the empty streets, the way the river moves without the distraction of passing boats, the locals who stay when everyone else leaves. Through a series of black-and-white photographs, I want to reveal the Mystic that exists outside of brochures and summer weekends, the version of home that tourists never see but that defines the place for those who live here.
