Mystic is an ongoing collection of photographs made in the coastal town where I grew up. These pictures were never part of a single plan. They built up slowly over several years, on walks through town, along the river and out to the shoreline, in the off-seasons as much as the summers.
Returning to the same streets again and again, I’ve watched the town change in small ways and stay stubbornly the same in others. The work is less a portrait of a place than a record of familiarity: the details that only come into view when somewhere has always been home.
